Enter the Battle: Overall Awards & Battle Round Showdown
At Nexxus Dance Challenge, every dancer has the chance to level up their experience—whether you’re chasing a top score or preparing to battle head-to-head! Upon registration dancers need to select which portion of the competition they want their solo in.
️Overall Awards Selection
Each participant can select one or more routines to be entered into the Overall Awards portion of the competition. Final placements will be announced during our awards ceremony. You can only place in Overalls once.
Battle Round – A Nexxt-Level Showdown
Ready to power up? Dancers also have the opportunity to submit ONE solo routine into the Battle Round, where things get exxciting!
How it works:
-
Dancers competing multiple solos may choose to enter one routine into the Overall Awards and one into the Battle Round.
-
The Battle Round is a random draw, meaning dancers will face off regardless of style—it’s about performance, power, and presence!
-
Solos will go head-to-head within their age category, with adjudicators watching closely to decide who advances.
The Final Showdown:
-
After all first-round battles, judges will deliberate and select the Top 3 performers in each age category.
-
Those Top 3 will re-dance live for the audience and adjudicators to battle it out one more time.
-
Only one will be crowned the Battle Round Winner, receiving live, real-time feedback from our judging panel in true bonus level fashion!
Judges' Live Critique
Winners will receive on-the-spot critiques from our expert judges, helping them grow and shine in future competitions.

Adjudicators' Choice Awards & Weekend Giveaways
At Nexxus Dance Challenge, it’s not just about the scores—it’s about recognition, effort, and passion at every level!
Adjudicators’ Choice Awards
During each adjudication, our panel of expert judges will present Special Awards that celebrate standout moments, creativity, performance energy, unique choreography, or inspiring storytelling.
These awards are not based on final scores—they are chosen at the judges' discretion and reflect the heart and spirit of the performance.
Think of it as unlocking a bonus achievement on your competition journey!
Choreography of the session award
Judges will select a stand out routine or choreography of their choice for that session.
Weekend Prizes & Fun Giveaways
Every adjudication includes exciting prize draws and surprise perks for dancers, parents, and audience members alike! Whether it’s cool merch, backstage goodies, or just-for-fun rewards, everyone in the room has a chance to win.
Because at Nexxus, we know it takes a whole community to make the magic happen—so we celebrate not only the dancers, but also the studio owners, choreographers, and families who support them every step of the way.
